Whether short- or long-term, you won't regret a little advance
planning for your needs.
Start by measuring the larger pieces and deternine how much space
smaller items will take. Then see one of our storage specialists
who will accommodate your needs.
We don't think anyone should rent more space than they need, but
too little is worse - it just won't fit!
Leave room for air to circulate around
Items as well as between stored goods and walls. An old blanket,
not plastic, is best for wooden furniture... |

If you have good, sturdy boxes,
great. Otherwise, consider buying them; they're always clean and
just the right size for the job.
Pack heavy items like books in smaller boxes. Keep the boxes 30
pounds or less for easy moving. Place durable goods on the
bottom of a stack, more fragile items on top.
Take the time to mark the contents of every box on three sides -
you won't regret it later. Put items to which you need
access in your storage unit last. Toiletries and personal items,
often packed last should be at the front.

Stoves and refrigerators, once thoroughly cleaned, can hold
bulky items like blankets and pillows. Always fill up those
dresser drawers!
For maximum accessibility, leave an aisle to the back wall. If
you won't be accessing your goods, pack the storage unit tightly
to maximize space.
Sofas and loveseats can be stored on end to save floor space.
Always place a protective waterproof cover under the end on the
floor. Cushions should be wrapped in plastic and placed on top.
Store mirrors on edge, not flat. |
